Ahoy, Carol!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You and your family will be setting sail to paradise in just one month! Yay! I'm happy to give you some suggestions of what items to pack for your high-seas adventure next month. I love to reference the
Packing List for Disney Cruises before each voyage, just to make sure I'm not forgetting anything!
During the days while enjoying all there is to "sea" and do around the ship, you should plan on wearing cruise casual attire (shorts, T-shirts, tank tops, capris, etc.). On most voyages, there will be a Pirate Night where Guests have the option to dress in pirate-y attire to dinner. My family usually brings along matching pirate-themed T-shirts to wear, but other Guests wear full pirate garb! If your Disney Cruise is four days or longer, you'll have an optional dress up night or Semi-Formal and Formal Night during dinner in the Main Dining restaurants. You'll see a wide variety of
Formal and Semi-Formal wear while onboard! Typically on Formal/Semi-Formal Nights, ladies will wear a cocktail dress or nice dress pants and top, and men will wear a suit or dress shirt, blazer and slacks. (These are just suggestions and not required; you will still be able to enjoy a delicious dinner and above and beyond customer service if you don't dress up!) Finally, be sure to bring your swimwear and swim cover-ups along with you, too!
I also recommend packing a light jacket or sweatshirt as well as a pair of jeans or long pants! The evenings can be a little chilly while on the ocean, and a sweatshirt or light jacket makes me the perfect temperature while watching a classic Disney movie under the stars on Funnel Vision!
Thanks so much for sailing by with this question!
