Ahoy there, Courtney, and welcome to planDisney! I am over the moon that the glass slipper finally fit for you and your crew to set sail on your very
first Disney Cruise. It is such a joy to help you prepare for the magic that awaits aboard the
Disney Wish.
Let’s start with those dinner themes. For this particular 3-night
Very Merrytime Cruise, the only designated theme night is
Pirate Night. While entertainment is always subject to change, current projections show that you and your fellow swashbucklers will celebrate on Night 2 after your day in Nassau. Even better, this special evening features a double dose of festive fun, since Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party also takes place that night. And, with a little cooperation from Jack Sparrow and the weather, you can expect fireworks shimmering over the sea to cap it all off.
The remaining nights are considered Cruise Casual, though you are welcome to dress in whatever makes you feel your very best. After all, this is your fairy tale! I recommend looking over this
packing checklist and the
list of prohibited items as you prepare. And one final tip for embarkation day: keep a carry-on with your travel documents, medications, and any must-haves for your first few hours onboard, such as a swimsuit and sunscreen. Checked luggage can take a bit of time to reach your stateroom, so your carry-on becomes your own personal pumpkin coach of essentials.
Before you arrive at the port, be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Once onboard, connect to the free DCL-GUEST WiFi to unlock your daily activity schedule, dining rotation, and all special events for your sailing. You can also favorite any activities, shows, or Character Greetings you do not want to miss and receive reminders when they are about to begin. The app’s chat feature is perfect for staying connected with your travel party, and many Guests use WhatsApp, Messenger, or iMessage to communicate with family back home. Just check with your provider ahead of time to avoid unexpected charges.
As fate would have it, I will be disembarking the Disney Wish the very same day you embark, so I promise to leave a little extra Pixie Dust floating through the Grand Hall for you. If any other questions sparkle to the surface before your grand adventure begins, I hope you will visit us again at
planDisney.
Bon voyage,
Sami
