We are sailing to Alaska in July. We have two adjoining rooms to fit all of us, will we be able to request to dine together?

Ahoy, Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing us your Disney Cruise Line question. I’m always extra excited to help a fellow Virginian make sure that their sailing plans are in shipshape condition.

As long as your reservations for both staterooms are linked, then your dining rotation and assigned table will be the same for everyone in your sailing party. If you made the reservations for both staterooms together, then they should already be linked without you having to do anything; however, let me explain how to make sure that they are linked and how you can link them just in case.

Start by going to the main Disney Cruise Line website and clicking on the tab at the top right labeled “Already Booked,” you can then click on the option labeled “My Reservations” under “My Disney Cruise” and login to your account. That will open up a page that should show your upcoming cruise and a drop-down box on the right hand side that lists your reservation number. If you click on the reservation number, it should open up other reservations and you should see your upcoming cruise description with both of the staterooms listed below. However, if you only see your stateroom listed, then you need to click on the blue link at the bottom of that drop-down box that says “Add and Link Reservations.” That will open up a new page where you can add the other stateroom’s information to link your entire sailing party together. To link the second stateroom, you will need the booking confirmation number and both the last name and date of birth for the primary guest staying in that stateroom. Just know that connecting reservations does share all of the details, including balance and payment information.

Once you have confirmed that the staterooms are linked, then you just need to make sure that both staterooms have the same dining time. If you booked both staterooms together, then they should have the same dining time automatically. To verify, use the same “My Reservations” tab on the website to open each reservation separately and scroll down to find the assigned dining time in the white box labeled “Dining.” If both reservations have the same time, then you are good to go. However, if one has early seating and one has late seating, then you will need to switch to the same dining time to guarantee seating together. Unfortunately, if the early seating time is full, then it will only allow you to switch both reservations to the late seating or select the option to be added to the waiting list for the early dining time. If you run into this problem, then I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line directly, so that they can make a note in your reservation that your entire party is trying to be assigned together for rotational dining and they can put the necessary reservation on the waitlist.

I’m also headed to Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder this summer, so I know how excited you must be. If you have any other questions before you set sail in July, then you are always welcome back here at planDisney. Happy sailing!
