Ahoy there, Michelle! What a sweet treat to find a fellow Disney Cruise-loving pal from the Volunteer State, so I’m glad you sailed by planDisney with your question.
I’m with you: the longer the cruise, the better for me! In fact, I often look for itineraries with multiple days at sea just so I have plenty of time to explore all the ship's amenities and spend time on my verandah with the sea breeze in my hair. That being said, a holiday cruise on the
Disney Wish might be my one exception to that rule.
I will never turn down a trip to
Castaway Cay, especially one that sails over July 4th. I’m tickled to tell you that not only is there a
Pirate Night on Night 2 after your day in Nassau (complete with fireworks), you will also experience another dazzling fireworks display during your first night on the high seas to celebrate the 4th of July! Of course, fireworks are always weather-dependent, but I can’t imagine how fun it would be to witness back-to-back nights of sparkling skies from the pool deck.
One thing you might not be used to if you’ve only sailed seven nights or more in the past is that this itinerary will not have an optional formal night. But Pirate Night means you can also dress up in your best pirate garb that evening! Plus, if you really want to fit in with your fellow scalawags, you can always book a Pirate Makeover at the
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique onboard that day. Or you can stay chic by pairing the bandana you’ll receive in your stateroom before dinner with a fitted white shirt, black bottoms, and red shoes. It’s a nod to pirate couture without diving all-in to Davy Jones’s locker.
Even though the cruise may be shorter, you won’t have to miss any of the incredible
rotational dining restaurants on the Disney Wish: 1923, Worlds of Marvel, and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure (just don’t ask me to pick my favorite). I will say the apple cake dessert at Arendelle is worth starting with for an appetizer; that also lessens the chances of me singing along with food in my mouth when Kristoff walks by during the sing-along! And have your cameras ready in
Worlds of Marvel if you spot Spider-Man; I set mine to video because he moves so fast, you don’t want to miss that potential selfie moment when he flies by.
I hope this helps you get extra excited for all the star-spangled fun to come on this
3-night Bahamian Cruise. If you think of any other questions before making a final decision, don’t hesitate to swing back by
planDisney.
‘Sea’ ya real soon,
Sami
