Ahoy Jennifer,
I am happy to chat with you about the beautiful
Disney Wish. My family was able to sail on this gorgeous ship last year, also for a
Halloween on the High Seas sailing. This was our first cruise on the Disney Wish after numerous cruises on the other Disney Cruise Line ships, so I can help to point out for you some of the unique experiences on the Disney Wish.
With the children, it will be fun to check out all of the pools on the Disney Wish. The Disney Wish has many pool areas scattered throughout the top decks. My daughter and I spent a fun afternoon searching to find all of the pools and being sure that we dipped our toes in every one! Our favorite pool was Chip 'n Dale's pool. This pool is located at the front of the ship on deck 14. It seemed like a secret - not many guests had ventured this far up and forward, so it was quiet and relaxing.
Some more fun for the whole family is to check out
Pirate Night. While this night of swashbuckling adventure is found on many Disney Cruise Line itineraries heading on Caribbean and Bahamian sailings, the Disney Wish is the only ship currently showing the Pirate's Rockin' Parlay Party. This high-energy show on the upper decks boats pumping music, amazing dancing, and a truly energetic atmosphere.
With your children, be sure to check out the
Kids Clubs on the Disney Wish. These spaces are amazing! Both of your children are in the age range for the
Oceaneer Club. There is so much to explore and do in this area - from Marvel Super Hero Academy to Fairytale Hall to Star Wars:
Cargo Bay, the themes are unreal in this area. Wonderful cast members will be there to play and interact with your children. If your children are anything like my daughter was at that age, they are going to ask to be dropped of here to play again and again. Even if your children do not wish to play in these areas without you, you can all visit together during Open House times. I recommend that you head down to see these areas yourself during Open House - they are amazing!
My last few recommendations are lounges. Your children are welcome to visit these with you during the day if you like, or if you want to have a more adult evening, you can visit while they are in the Oceaneer Club! Check out
Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge. You feel like you have boarded a ship in the Star Wars universe and can experience amazing drinks while there. We even got to bring home a couple of the souvenir Porg glasses that you can get drinks in! Also, do swing by Hook's Barbery. This location offers a barber shop - but also hosts a secret bar behind a gorgeous map! It is such a unique location. Finally, check out the Bayou. Located in the middle of deck three and inspired by The Princess and the Frog, this lush area allows for relaxation and some delicious New Orleans-inspired cocktails...and beignets!
Operating times may vary, so I suggest that you consult the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App often while on board for the most updated times.
I would love to help you plan more Jennifer; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please feel free to write back with any further questions as you plan your magical sailing!
