We sail in just 20 days on the Fantasy!! We have a child with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He has a mobility scooter for longer distances but he is mobile otherwise. Can we take the scooter off the boat for use on the paved areas at Castaway?

    Hi there Lisa!

Congratulations on your upcoming Disney Fantasy cruise!  I'm so excited for you and your family....you're going to love that ship...it's absolutely magnificent!

You can take the scooter off the ship for use on the paved areas.  There are also sand wheelchairs available onboard on a first come first served basis.  Here is some more information for you:

    Disney's Castaway Cay
On Disney's Castaway Cay, provisions for Guests with disabilities include the following:

    • Paved pathways throughout the main promenade, providing access to shops and restaurants

    • Sand wheelchairs, available free of charge and on a first-come, first-served basis

    • A tram equipped to allow Guests in manual and electric wheelchairs to board

    • Accessible restrooms

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.  Have a wonderful time on your trip Lisa:)
