    Can you do the Safari at night? I read there is an addition cost. Is that true?

    Hi Jessica!

    Disney's Animal Kingdom recently extended their hours to after dark, which means you can take a night ride at Kilimanjaro Safaris.  I highly recommend going just before sunset.  You'll start the safari with a little daylight and end when the sun is fully down.  There is no additional charge for this attraction at night.

    Disney's Animal Kingdom at night is an awesome experience.  The Tree of Life comes alive with beautiful projections and music.  If your plans allow, I suggest visiting this park at night.  Pandora - The World of Avatar is opening soon and it looks incredible!  Pandora is certainly not to be missed.

    There are a couple of Walt Disney World tours that offer a night safari at an additional cost that explore the savanna at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Starlight Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge starts at 10:00PM and includes night vision goggles.  Savor the Savanna: Evening Safari Experience includes African-inspired food and beverages along with a private safari ride.  Both of these evening safari experiences require advance reservations.
