Hello Anthony, and welcome to
planDisney! Thanks for sending your question our way, and I'm happy to assist you.
First off, please accept my sincere condolences on your mother's passing, and may you find comfort in your memories. In terms of the buried treasure you discovered, I have good news for you. Even if the tickets you found are no longer valid (
if they were purchased after 2004 and do not include the No Expiration option, then they're technically expired),
Walt Disney World theme park tickets never lose their original value, and the amount paid may be applied to a new ticket purchase.
I recommend calling (407) 939-1289, and a Cast Member will be able to give you more information about the type of tickets you have, when they were purchased, and how you can upgrade them so they can be used on your next vacation. When my grandparents were moving from their home in the Sunshine State and no longer able to travel or visit
Walt Disney World, we found some old, unused theme park tickets when cleaning out their things. I brought the tickets with me to Guest Relations on a visit to the
Magic Kingdom Park, and a friendly Cast Member helped me convert them to non-Florida resident tickets; I was able to pay the difference to upgrade them to tickets I could use.
I hope this is helpful, Anthony. I have always found that Cast Members will do what they can to meet Guests' needs, and I wish you well in your quest to redeem your newly found tickets. Thanks for stopping by, and hopefully we'll see ya real soon!
