Hi Kathleen and welcome home! Attending Moonlight Magic events is one of our family’s favorite Disney Vacation Club
Membership Extra benefits. We’ve been lucky enough to attend a couple of these events at
EPCOT and
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Having the parks all to yourself and fellow DVC members is quite the treat, quite literally too since they usually serve all the Mickey Ice Cream Bars you can eat!
DVC typically releases
information on Moonlight Magic, such as event dates and when you can register, late in the calendar year. For example, they released the dates for 2026 in Fall 2025. Since as members we’re often booking our rooms well in advance (using our
home resort priority booking window), that may not work well for having a chance at early registration.
But don’t fret! There are often two registration windows for Moonlight Magic, giving you an extra opportunity to attend even if you don’t have a room reservation. Also, DVC sometimes adds extra Moonlight Magic dates, such as the extra dates added for Disney’s Animal Kingdom in October, November, and December of last year. And while there is certainly no guarantee that past events are any indicators of certainty (including whether DVC will have Moonlight Magic events in the future), previous Moonlight Magic Events at
Disney California Adventure have been held on weekdays in the beginning of the calendar year.
