I am so sad! We are visiting Sept 28-Oct 2 and my grandson (4 yr) and we are so disappointed that bugs life, Pixel land, fireworks - seems like only scary stuff -- what would be the best for us to do for a 4 year old? Disappointed from Texas

Howdy, Debbie! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

There is simply no way to be sad when you are visiting the Happiest Place on Earth! There are many, many things to see and do at the Disneyland Resort that are perfect for everyone from age 4 to 104. Let's start with Disney California Adventure Park. While "a bug's land" will be closing next month, there are still plenty of things for little ones to enjoy. Cars Land is so perfectly themed that you will feel like you are walking right into the movies. If your grandson is at least 32" tall, then he can enjoy Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween. These attractions will both have their Halloween overlays during your visit, but are still perfectly kid-friendly. Also in this park, your grandson can ride several other attractions that do not have height requirements in addition to meeting characters like Spider-Man, Captain America, Anna, Elsa, and many more.

In Disneyland Park, there are oodles of attractions perfect for little ones and lots of areas for kids to explore like Mickey's Toontown and the Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island. He can also ride the Disneyland Railroad all the way around the park or take a walk through Sleeping Beauty Castle. There are numerous characters to meet here as well like Tinker Bell, princesses, and Mickey and the gang, among others. Use the Disneyland app look up exact times and locations to meet characters in both parks.

I have been taking my daughter to the parks since she was 18 months old and we have always had so much to see and do that we never worried when an attraction or two were closed for refurbishment during our trip. So, I'm certain that your visit to the Disneyland Resort will be full of magic and memories!
