    We are RV camping at Fort Wilderness Halloween Weekend and plan to decorate our site. Is there a best decoration contest? Do we need to register/sign up?

    Hi Deirdre! If you have never experienced Halloween in Fort Wilderness you will have the time of your life this year.

    Starting on Friday, October 28 you will find a pumpkin patch in front of the Meadows Trading Post where you can buy one for your site. This will happen as supplies last.  On Sunday, October 30 starting at 2pm you can register your masterpiece for the pumpkin decorating contest. This will be in front of the Settlement Trading Post. The golf cart parade will take place on this day as well from 5-5:30. Sign ups are at the Bike Barn by 3pm. There is also a Beach Bash on Sunday night from 6-10:30pm. And of course finally Sunday is the night of the site decorating contest. They will be judging between 9-11pm so be sure and sign up at the Bike Barn by 5pm.

    The fun doesn't stop there. On Monday, October 31 there will be the annual pet parade from 1:30-2:30 at the Dog Park. Sign ups must take place at the Bike Barn by Sunday at 5pm so don't forget if you are bringing a four legged family member.

    The site constest will be announced that evening at the Campfire Theater between 6:30-7:30. Sometimes a special guest arrives either before the Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong so you never know. That will also be the night of the annual massive trick or treating in the campgrounds. You can choose to participate or not but it is fun to see all the kids dressed in their costumes coming by and hoping for a treat!
