    I will be running in the WDW half in January 2016. Other (non-Disney) races we've run had photographers along the race course taking pictures of the runners. We are considering getting the Memory Maker package for our trip. Will this work for the race?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jodi! 

    First, I want to say Aloha! I'm answering your question today from the beautiful Disney's Polynesian Village Resort - which has me excited for you to visit during the 2016 Walt Disney World® Half Marathon. I hope you are excited too!

    I also want to thank you for your excellent question. The use of Memory Maker while participating in a runDisney event has been a very popular topic. While Memory Maker is the perfect add-on to capture all your magical memories while visiting the theme parks during normal operating hours, it is not usable while participating in a race. This service is outsourced to MarathonFoto, a sports and race-based company skilled at capturing action shots while guests are running. You will automatically receive an email about two days post-race letting you know your photos are ready to be viewed. There will also be Cast Members stationed at all the character photo spots to capture a photo for you with your camera or smart phone - a few will have MarathonFoto photographers, but not all. 

    I do know runDisney is working on the logistics of being able to offer Memory Maker for its race events, so stay tuned for future updates. And please do not hesitate to ask any additional questions you may have. I am here to help you plan a magical runDisney race experience.
