Hi! I am running the Princess Half this Feb and wanted to know will I be missing out on a lot if I don't purchase the extra pre/post race pkg for runners as well as for my family? Do most people do this? Is it really worth the cost? Should I do it for me

Hi Stacey!   I have run the Princess Half twice---once with Race Retreat and once without.  The Race Retreat is really nice.  You get food, drinks, private bag check, private restrooms, TV's, etc., and the best part is that you can stay warm right up until time to walk to the starting line.  Plus, you get a place to rest after the race and even get a post-race massage.  Is it a necessity?  No, but I would say that if you can afford it, it is definitely worth the money.
The chEAR squad has different levels of purchase.  Probably my favorite part of it is the platinum level that allows you to use the Race Retreat tent after the runners have gone.  It is a very comfortable way to be able to send your runner off, then lounge in style (and warmth) while waiting for them to finish.  The chEAR squad also allows you to use the priority viewing areas at both the castle and the finish line.
Both of these are really nice options and make the day more enjoyable.  You can use your best judgement, but I would recommend it to anyone who asks!  Good luck!  Hope to see you there!
