I will be running the 2013 Marathon for the first time and I need to know about FOOD. I have heard rumors that the resorts have pasta in the food court areas the night before the races. Is this true? Will the food service areas be open prior to the races?

Hi Mary!  I am really excited about the 20th anniversary Walt Disney World Marathon!  The new course and race medal look amazing!

It would depend on which resort you are staying at for food options.  You may have heard about the Pasta in the Park parties that are available to runners at an extra cost.  You can buy a ticket to these for the night before your race to enjoy a buffet and meet other runners.  There is a DJ and the parties are always a lot of fun.

For the morning of your race, some resorts will have coffee available, but your best bet is to get to the starting area early.  There are food and drink booths there.  I like to get there really early so I can eat in plenty of time for it to digest before the race.  I also visit my resort gift shop the day before my race and get a bag of plain bagels.   A bagel with peanut butter is my pre-race fuel!

Let me know if you have any other questions!!
