Hi Matt!
Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I am really excited about the new Lumiere's Two Course Challenge! Since it is a brand new challenge, with a new 10K and a new morning half marathon, the exact transportation details are still being worked out.
But, I will advise you based on similar runDisney events at Walt Disney World. Your mom (and all spectators) can use the same runDisney bus transportation that is provided for runners staying in a Disney Resort. A schedule of bus hours will be available on the
Wine and Dine Half Marathon website and in the Official Event Guide closer to the date of the race. Since your mom has a scooter, she will just need to tell the Cast Members at the bus stop and they can radio in for a bus that accommodates her machine. No worries!
The best place for her to meet you at the finish area will be in the Family Reunion zones. There will be zones arranged alphabetically, so just make plans to meet by the letter that corresponds with your name. Maps of the finish area will also be in the Official Event Guide. These guides will be sent to runners in a link, available to download online and also in print form at the expo when you pick up your packet. She should be aware of your estimated finish time, and she can also sign up for Runner Tracking to know when you finish. I always carry my phone when I run, so I just text my family members to meet up when I'm done.
The guide will also have transportation instructions for people not staying on property. There will be more information on the Wine and Dine Half website, under the SPECTATORS tab. Everything is still being ironed out now, but the information should be up sometime in late summer.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
