Running the 5K in January. Epcot has extra magic hours that morning. Will timing work that we can do the race, then stay at Epcot for the morning?

    Hi, Kelly!

You're correct, Epcot does have morning extra magic hours beginning at 8:00am for on-property guests on the day of the Walt Disney World 5K. As far as the timing goes, I do think you could make it work! Here's how:

The 5K begins at 6:00am in the Explorer parking lot at Epcot Theme Park. Your corral placement will determine your start time, and there are about 5 minutes between each corral with approximately 4-5 corrals for the 5K. Let's say you start in corral C, you would start about 6:15am, and if you stop for photos and take the allotted 16 minutes per mile to complete the race, you would finish just after 7:00am, giving you just the right amount of time to get through the runners chute, obtain your finisher's medallion, post-race refreshments, gEAR Bag, and clean up before heading into Epcot for a fun-filled day. It's a perfect plan!

I also suggest changing in the restroom located at the main entrance to Epcot. A clean theme park restroom is much better than a porta-john!

    I hope this helps, Kelly!
