    I am running in the Goofy's Challenge. I have a friend going to the half, but am alone at the full. What is the closest nice resort to the start line? It scares me a bit that I'm going by myself so early in the morning for the full. Thank you.

    Congratulations on going for the Goofy!  I really want to get that medal some day!

    The closest resorts to the starting line would be one of the Epcot area resorts.  They are all Deluxe resorts and are very nice.  (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk)  You would need to use bus transportation from these resorts as Epcot will not be open for you to walk through before the race begins. 

    However, all resorts will be running buses to and from all race weekend events.  So, all you will have to do is go to the front of any resort and hop on a bus.  It will take you right there.

    I ran the 2012 Disney World Half by myself and had no trouble.  I like to get on one of the first buses so I have plenty of time to warm up and get ready once in the starting area.  You will receive all of the transportation information in an email and there will also be booklets with the information at the packet pick-up area.

    Don't be nervous!  There will be thousand of others there doing the same thing, and runners are nothing if not friendly!  I have found myself sharing my vehicle and taxi cabs with complete strangers at races.  We are all going to the same place after all!
