    I am running my first marathon in Disney. I have a question about the Race Retreat and the Chear Squad. If you have done either, would you please fill me in.

    Hi, Jennifer! 

    Congratulations on your decision to participate in the Walt Disney World® Marathon! This race takes you through all four theme parks and truly is 26.2 miles of magic! I have had the opportunity to experience the Race Retreat and it is fantastic! Here is why I think it is the perfect compliment to any Walt Disney World® Resort runDisney endurance event.

    - Climate-controlled tent. You never know what Mother Nature has in store for Florida on race weekend. By having a climate-controlled space both before and after the race, you're sure to be comfortable.

    -Private bag check. Once you've arrived at the Start Zone on race morning, you can head straight to the Race Retreat and check your gEAR Bag there-- it will be waiting on you in the tent once you've completed the marathon. In addition, there will be some fun goodies waiting on you, too. 

    -Private restroom! Though still porta-potties, these are the deluxe version and fewer people would have been using them. There is also space to change and clean up.

    -Character greetings. Always fun!

    -Food! With continental breakfast offerings before the race, and a full buffet after the race, you are sure to be well fueled. 

    While I have not experienced being a spectator as part of the chEAR Squad, I am very familiar with the program. This is the ultimate way for friends/family to be a part of the magic. There are two chEAR Squad packages for those attending race weekend with you that offer reserved seating, hot & cold beverages and private restrooms. The Platinum package also includes entry into the Race Retreat, providing your supporters a very comfortable experience.
