Congratulations on deciding to become a marathoner! The Walt Disney World Marathon (in my opinion) is the PERFECT race for your first full marathon. It was my first marathon in 2013. I have run it three times since and am signed up again for 2019. Obviously, that is a challenging distance to run, but the race is so much fun that the miles seem to fly by!
The final information with course nutrition probably won't be released until a few weeks before the race. You will find the details in the Official Event Guide that will be emailed to runners and also posted on the
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend website, under the tab "Runner Info". However, you can find the
information for the 2018 marathon here on the event guide from this year's race weekend. There may be different offerings if sponsorship changes, but if you are wanting to try some of these in the near future, this is what was offered on the 2018 course:
A total of 19 beverage stations will be set up along the course offering DASANI® water and POWERADE There will be five food stops located along the course. Chiquita bananas will be available at Mile 12.1 and Mile 18.3. Sport Beans® Energizing Jelly Beans® will be distributed at Mile 15.9 and Mile 20.1. Sponges will be provided at Mile 17.9, and candy will be available at Mile 23.2.
I like to take my own salty snacks along with me in my race belt, so if there is something you know you need, you may consider doing the same.
