RunDisney question: I have balance issues and use a walker to balance when I run. RunDisney specifically mentions wheelchairs are allowed on the course but makes no mention of walkers. Would I be allowed on course?

    Hi Christine! Welcome to planDisney.

There is nothing quite like crossing that finish line at a runDisney event. Every mile is truly magic while you enjoy unique entertainment, themed races, and fun character stops. I always schedule lots of time to enjoy Expo Day at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

I read through the Race Policies for the upcoming runDisney Marathon Weekend. While I did find restrictions on joggers and strollers under the Safety Reminders, I did not specifically find restrictions on walkers. I can tell you from my personal experience, I have personally witnessed crutches and walking sticks on the course, but not walkers. To verify, I suggest you submit the inquiry form with your unique situation. Alternatively, you can call (407) 939-4786 to speak directly with runDisney.

A friendly reminder, you must be able to maintain a pace of 16 minutes per mile during your event. Those runners who cannot complete this pace will have to take a bus to the finish line area. If you plan to register for an event, I suggest you set up your runDisney account prior to registration. On registration day, be ready precisely at registration opening time to secure a spot in the sign up queue. Good Luck!

    Happy Training,
    Cindy
