I want to run Wine and Dine 10k and my husband the half marathon. Do both go past BC? If staying there, can I/my husband walk our kids down to see the other run by instead of going to finish line? Is finish line usually pretty crowded? Thanks!

    Hi Melanie,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Let me start with a big “way to go” shout out for wanting to run in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend events!

Just a few months ago, my wife and I ran the Disney Wine & Dine 10K together, and the following day she ran the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon as part of the Disney Two Course Challenge. Both races were so much fun, and the Post-Race Party held after hours at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival was fantastic.

I can tell about our 2017 race experience. The 10K course ran along Disney's BoardWalk, and the Half Marathon course ran along the other side of Crescent Lake in front of Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort. I don’t know the specific details of how spectator viewing will be managed along those areas for your races, so you’ll want to check your race guides for details. The Epcot finish area had bleacher seating for spectators to ChEAR on their favorite runners. While the fun crowds at the finish line area are large and lively, in my experience, I've always been able to find a good spot near the finish area to see my wife complete her races. It's fun to be surrounded by race fans and families all supporting the runners. I suggest using the Runner Tracking to receive text messages so you know where your favorite runner is along the course and when to be in position to ChEAR for them.

Good luck with your races. You'll have so much fun!

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
