Is there a way to run from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness? I need to complete a 12 mile training ri while visiting. I am staying at the lodge and would like to run to the campground to utilize the 3 mile loop.

Hi Rebecca, welcome back to planDisney!

I’m happy to see you’re planning another visit to Walt Disney World, and that you intend to run 12 miles during your vacation! Way to go!

At this time, there is not a path connecting Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Weather permitting, there is a water taxi that travels between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge, but that particular route starts later in the day, and I’m assuming you’ll want to complete your run earlier. You could take a water taxi from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom, then a water taxi to Fort Wilderness. Going to Magic Kingdom would also give you access to the path from Magic Kingdom towards Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. The bus from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom will sometimes include a stop at Fort Wilderness. But you would want to confirm with the bus driver before getting on the bus if they will make that stop and in what order.

Good luck with your training, Rebecca. I commend you for staying committed to your running while taking a vacation! I know completing that many miles on a treadmill can be daunting, so I hope you find ways to make the miles magical. If you have any more questions, we’re here to help you at planDisney!
