Hi- I am going to run the W&D this fall and had previously signed up for a half on Sept 21, 7 weeks before the W&D. I am just getting back in to regular running and was wondering if 7 weeks is enough to recover/maintain before the W&D. Thank yo

    Hi Brenda!

First, the Wine and Dine Half is my absolute favorite runDisney race!  I love running at night and going through three parks on the course.  You are going to love it!

For your question, I do think that seven weeks is plenty of time to recover between races.  Obviously, if you have any injuries or issues, you will want to talk to your doctor.  But, if you are healthy, then I think you will be fine.  Make sure to follow any recovery training runs on your program, and give yourself a break for a couple of weeks after your first race before beginning to run long distances again.

If you don't have any, you may look into getting some compression gear.  I put on my compression socks after every race and it has made a huge difference in my recovery days.  Plus, they just feel really good to wear after running!

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
