Hello! I want to run the Neverland 5K. Its my first race and I’m a huge Tinker Bell fan. We plan to stay at Baylake. Are kids allowed on the adult 5Ks? They will be 9 and 5. Or can they plan to meet me at the finish line? Not sure how to plan.

    Hi there, Nancy!

Welcome to planDisney. I'm thrilled you've brought me your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! Nancy, you are speaking my language - as a fellow runDisney enthusiast, I'm honored by the opportunity to assist you with your race weekend planning question. First of all, I'd like to congratulate you on your first runDisney event - welcome to the family! Now, off to Neverland!

I'm so excited to hear you're planning to register for the Neverland 5K. It's the perfect choice for Tinker Bell fans like yourself! I've had the chance to participate in runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend for the past two years and can assure you that you're in for a pixie-dusted time. Nancy, I'm delighted to inform you that Neverland 5K participants don't need to grow up - that is, it's open to both children-at-heart and children ages 5 and up! As long as your children can complete the race on their own, you're welcome to register them to participate with you.

Now, Nancy, the magic of runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend is that its theme, entertainment offerings, and race courses always have an element of surprise. Since the course maps for next year's races haven't been released quite yet, we can only speculate about where the races might take place. However, many runDisney 5Ks are held at EPCOT, and if this is true for the Neverland 5K, Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort will be a fantastic place for participants to stay! As a Guest of this Deluxe Villa Resort, you'll be able to fly quickly over to EPCOT aboard the EPCOT Monorail on race morning. It's always a relief when race transportation is a breeze! If the rest of your family decides to meet you at the finish line instead of embarking on the 3.1-mile adventure with you, they can use EPCOT Monorail transportation to congratulate you at the finish line.

I hope you've found this information helpful, Nancy. If you have any additional runDisney race-cation planning questions, or if you have questions pertaining to runDisney Springtime Surprise Race Weekend registration (which will take place on August 22, 2023, for the general public) please feel free to reach out to me directly again anytime. I'm always happy to help fellow runners achieve their runDisney dreams! I'm wishing you and your family miles and miles of magic and memories.

Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning,

    Lauren
