I would like to run the Mickey Jingle Jungle 5K in Nov 2014. My son will be 7 1/2 yr old. Do you children that age participate? Is that expecting too much? We considered the kid races, but he wants to do it together. THANK YOU!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda!

Congratulations on your decision to participate in Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. I am especially excited to hear your son would like to run as well.

Children his age, and younger, are more than welcome to participate in this family fun run event. My son was 8 and my oldest daughter 6, when they participated in their first runDisney 5k in 2011. We had to take it at their pace and encourage them along the way, but it ended up being an experience we all still talk about. I will never forget the look on my son's face when we crossed the finish line. It was priceless! I can also still remember how proud they were wearing their medals around the Magic Kingdom. Cast Members made their day as they congratulated them on their race accomplishment.

Our children are capable of so much more than we think- I encourage you to let him give it a try! I hope this information is helpful, Amanda. Please do not hesitate to ask any additional questions you may have regarding any runDisney events. And remember to register soon! Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k is quickly reaching capacity

    Have a great day!
