Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ashlee!
I'm so excited to hear you are interested in participating in the
Disney Princess Half Marathon! Were you able to get registered for the 2015 event? I would love to know!
When it comes to taking the leap into the world of half marathons, especially as a busy mom of three Disney boys, there are some great tips to make sure you stay injury-free and functional - not only while you are training, but while you are racing too. Because when you runDisney, you'll want to be running through Cinderella Castle in the morning, and watching the Main Street Electrical Parade by night.
Here are some of my top tips for having Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust that you can be a half marathoner.
• Be a Diva! Make sure your family is aware of your plans to take on this challenge. By having their support and putting your training sessions on the calendar, as you do your family's activities, it becomes a priority.
• Use the run/walk strategy! This tip is so important because it really will make a difference in your success and enjoyment of running. This method was created by the official runDisney Training Consultant, Jeff Galloway and has made runners out of millions. Including me :)

race-specific training plans provided for free!
I hope you find this information helpful, Ashlee. I would love to see you out on the course! Please do not hesitate to send me any questions you may have regarding a runDisney-cation! I am here to help make your race experience as magical as possible.
Have a runDisney Day!
