I want to run the Disney Marathon in 2024 for a charity, but I am not sure how to do that. I am a DVC member, so I would probably book my rooms through the DVC, but I am not sure how to do that and also book for a charity.

    Hi there, Austin!

Welcome to planDisney!  How wonderful that you are thinking of running the Walt Disney World Marathon and even more magical, you are hoping to share that magic with others by raising funds for a charity. What a meaningful way to embrace the experience and spread pixie dust far and wide beyond this event.

Austin, the first thing you would do is to take a look at the runDisney site which lists participating charities. You would then choose a couple that speak to you, and check out their websites and from my research, it looks like they have a form you can fill out to register or learn more about running with that organization.  Some of them have fundraising levels or requirements you have to meet in order to attend the event. But the charity will provide the instructions (and some even offer training support!)

Essentially, Austin, all of the registration and details would be handled by the charity.  Just follow their instructions, and with a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, you'll be running too!

In regard to booking your rooms using your DVC Membership, you can inquire about that with the charity as well. They may have fundraising levels that don't include room stays, in which case you can then use your Vacation Points to book your room.  Some of the charities have fundraising levels that include room stays, so you may just want to note that as you review which one you'd like to work with.  If you do stay at the Resort through one of the charities, you would still be able to take advantage of your Disney Vacation Club Member Extras and benefits if eligible.

I hope this helps you, Austin.  If I can help you with any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back and see me here because you've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon!
