Hi Tora,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! January is such a great time of year to come to the
Walt Disney World Resort because the weather is cooler, but you still will likely be able to enjoy the sunshine.
Since your holiday will begin around the time of a
runDisney Marathon, you can expect to see more guests throughout the Resort, but don’t let this worry you! I think there will be plenty of time and space for fun, you’ll just want to be a bit more strategic.
For example, when you arrive for your first two days, head to the Theme Parks early. If there’s
early Theme Park entry, use it to your advantage. If there are later
extended evening hours, take time to rest during the day and stay out a little later. Since most of the major runDisney events take place in the morning, the Parks may be a little less crowded in the evening because people will be resting for their run. Also keep in mind that as the marathon weekend comes to a close, more guests will be heading home. Depending on how long your holiday is, you can see the crowd come and go all during your stay.
If you’re staying on property, remember to utilize your Resorts amenities as well! There are a lot of fun things to do at
Disney Resorts Collection hotels and if you’re taking a break during the day, this is a great way to fill up time in between Park visits.
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you continue to prepare for your holiday. If you have any other planning or vacation questions in the meantime,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
