Hiya, Rachael! Thanks for moseying on over to planDisney!
Pitching your tent at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a great way to rough it in style. I'm a big fan of "the Fort" myself, so I'm happy to help you get ready for your adventure in the great outdoors!
Tent and pop-up campsites at Fort Wilderness are equipped with a concrete pad for your vehicle and a sandy surface perfect for your tent. You'll also find a picnic table, a charcoal grill, and a water source at your campsite. You're allowed to bring your own fire pit, but it must be all metal, including a solid metal top that will prevent exposed flames and the release of embers and sparks. If you do a search in your browser for "Fort Wilderness fire pit," you'll see photos of approved models.
One of the things I really love about a stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is that you're just a boat ride away from the
Magic Kingdom Park. It's hard to believe that you can feel so far from the hustle and bustle, while still being so close to the magic!
Rachael, you're going to have an amazing time exploring the wilderness at the Walt Disney World Resort! I wish you fair weather and lots of pixie dust!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
