What are the rules about smoking cigarettes on the boat

    Ahoy there, Casey!

Welcome aboard planDisney! First, let me give you a big high-five for asking this question before you sail. Knowing the rules ahead of time helps everyone enjoy a smooth voyage, whether they're chasing down character meet-and-greets, relaxing by the pool, or searching for their next soft-serve ice cream.

When it comes to smoking cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, or other tobacco products onboard, the key is to stick to the designated areas. Disney Cruise Line has specific locations set aside for smoking, and those locations can vary from ship to ship. Some designated areas may also have restricted hours, so you'll want to ensure to keep this in mind as you plan your adventure.

One rule that often surprises Guests is that smoking is not permitted on stateroom verandahs. Even if you have a beautiful ocean view all to yourself, you'll still need to head to one of the designated smoking areas. Disney takes this policy very seriously, and smoking in your stateroom, including a verandah, currently carries a $250 fee.

Since you didn't mention which ship you'll be sailing on, I'll also share one unique exception in the fleet. If you're considering the Disney Adventure sailing from Singapore, local regulations add a few extra twists to the story. Electronic cigarettes, vape pens, and chewing tobacco are prohibited, and Singapore's regulations also prohibit chewing gum. It's one of those rare situations where local laws become part of your packing list planning.

The good news is that Disney does a great job of clearly marking the smoking areas onboard, so once you step aboard, you'll have no trouble finding the correct location. Think of it like following a treasure map: as long as you're in the designated spot, you're exactly where you're supposed to be.

I hope this helps as you prepare for your sailing adventure! A little planning before embarkation day can help you avoid surprises and spend more time enjoying everything the ship has to offer.

Sea ya real soon as the days grow longer and the countdowns grow shorter,
