what are the rules about dining plan snacks?

    Hi, there!

Welcome to planDisney, Eileen. I'm so happy you stopped by and even happier to hear you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this winter! Your visit is the perfect time to check out the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This celebration of the visual, culinary, and performing arts is not to be missed!

It sounds like you'll be enjoying one of the dining plans available to Guests of the Disney Resorts Collection. That's so great! You're sure to enjoy the flexibility and convenience a dining plan adds to your Disney vacation. Not to mention, you're sure to enjoy lots of delicious food! Whether you've purchased the Disney Dining Plan or the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan for your stay, your plan includes one snack per night of stay for each person, ages 3 and up, listed on your Disney Resort hotel reservation. You'll have lots of yummy options to choose from! Eligible snack items include, but are not limited to, pieces of whole fruit, frozen ice cream novelties, single-serving bags of snacks, popsicles, popcorn scoops, and beverages like bottled Coca-Cola products, fountain drinks, and coffee. An important thing to remember about dining plan snacks is that eligible snack items have to be single-serving. Additionally, items that are served in a souvenir container or considered to be merchandise are not eligible. You'll be able to spot eligible snack items easily; they'll be identifiable on menus by a purple and white dining plan icon. When I'm enjoying a dining plan on my Disney vacation, you can bet I'm using my snacks on Mickey-shaped soft pretzels (my favorite Disney snack of all time) and on iced coffees at the theme park Starbucks locations (I'm a mom of three - I need that caffeine!).

While you're counting down the days to your Disney vacation, I very much recommend you take some time to listen to or watch Everything You Need to Know About Dining Plans | planDisney Podcast - Season 3, Episode 1. I just listened to it yesterday, and it's filled with tips and tricks you won't want to miss!

Let's chat more about the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This is a great place to redeem your meal plan snacks! With 16 unique food kiosks throughout the festival, you're sure to spot that dining plan snack icon and find something to fill the rumbly in your tumbly.

I hope this was helpful, Eileen. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
