Hey there, Steve! Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question.
The
monorail is a great way to travel around to parts of the Walt Disney World Resort. There are
two different monorail routes. The first, I like to call the Magic Kingdom Park route and it makes a big circle. Stops on this line include Magic Kingdom, Disney's Contemporary Resort, the Transportation & Ticket Center (the parking lot of Magic Kingdom Park), Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This monorail route runs all day long and in this order. At Magic Kingdom Park, you can also find an express monorail that just goes from Magic Kingdom Park to the Transportation & Ticket Center and back again without stopping at any of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. The next monorail route I like to call the Epcot route. This route makes two continuous stops at the Transportation & Ticket Center and then over at Epcot. You can also travel from Epcot or Magic Kingdom Park to the other by taking the monorail over to the Transportation & Ticket Center and switching lines to your destination.
While I don't necessarily have a detailed map for you, if you do a quick internet search there are several posted on different websites around the internet illustrating the routes I listed above. The monorail starts running about 30 minutes prior to the scheduled park opening time and at least an hour after the theme parks close at night. It's a great way to get around parts of the Walt Disney World Resort. If the monorail isn't going to one of your destinations you can always use another form of
complimentary transportation like a bus, boat or even the Disney Skyliner. There's plenty of ways to get you where you need to go.
I hope this helps, Steve. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help. Have a great day!
