I want to rope drop at Disneyland on Sun 9/7.25 so I’d like to be arriving at a parking lot by 7:15am. I understand that is the day of the 1/2 marathon and that there will be road closures still at that time of day. Where can I park easily that early?

Hello there, Margaret. Your visit is almost here, and I'm so happy to help answer your question!

Parking at the Disneyland Resort opens 60 minutes before the earliest standard theme park opening that day. On Sunday, September 7, both parks will open at 9:00 AM, which is slightly later than usual. All spectators and athletes for the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon have been directed to park at the Toy Story Lot that morning. I suggest parking at the Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals Parking Structures if you're hoping to get to the theme parks early.

Keep in mind that there are also road closures around the Disneyland Resort on the day of your visit due to the race, so give yourself extra time navigating to the resort. For general information on the best way to get to the Disneyland Resort, please check out these driving directions. You can also check out the runDisney Digital Expo & Event Guide for more information on planned road closures on Sunday.

The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon begins at 5:00 AM, and the course exits the Disneyland Resort theme parks after mile six. Since there is a set pace maximum of 16 minutes per mile for all runners, most roads near the parking structures should be clear by around 7:30 AM or so. Of course, this is subject to change, and I encourage you to add extra time for travel to the resort that day. I'll be running the race, so if you see me, please wave!

I hope this information helps, Margaret! Please let me know if you have any other questions - I would be happy to help!

    See ya real soon,
    Melissa
