For rope drop at AK, if staying onsite, will you be held at entrance until 8:30 or will you be able to walk into the park a certain distance. If I want to ride EE, will I be able to walk all the way to Asia area or be stopped at tree?

    Hello Meghan!

I love doing rope drop at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is one of my favorite attractions!

Traditionally, at rope drop, Guests are held up in Discovery Island in front of the Tree of Life, and once the park officially opens, Guests are let into the other areas of the park. Recently, according to my experiences, Guests are allowed into the parks to queue up near the entrances of attractions before the official park opening time for that day. My recommendation is to try to get to Disney's Animal Kingdom at least 30 to 45 minutes before it is scheduled to open on that day. That way, whatever way rope drop is enacted, you will be one of the first ones in line for Expedition Everest! Another tip is to ride Expedition Everest again after your first ride because wait times should be low at the beginning of the day. I have enjoyed Expedition Everest 4 times in a row at park opening before on my Walt Disney World vacations!

I hope your day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is wild!
