Hi Julie! Welcome to planDisney.
Sing it with me: "yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for me!"
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my very favorite rides at the Walt Disney World Resort. The minute we sail into the open waters with the cannons booming, the smell and sounds transport me to my first visit as a child, and I have a smile from ear to ear. The song, the audio-animatronics, and the immersive storyline...it's all so good!
Having said all that, while a pirate's life is for me, a pirate's
room may not be for everyone. The
Pirate rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are one of those hotly debated Walt Disney World Resort features, with some Guests adoring the fun theming (seriously, who doesn't want to sleep in a pirate ship?), and others noting that the rooms' distance from the Old Port Royale area (where the main building and feature pool are located) is not convenient. As someone who LOVES exploring
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, especially first thing in the morning with a gorgeous Florida sky above me and a hot cup of coffee in my hand, I have never minded a walk at my Disney hotel, but I know we all have different needs and wants on our vacations.
Julie, I checked with a Cast Member, who did some research and reported that all the buildings in the Trinidad section of
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are pirate-themed. This section is very convenient to the
Disney Skyliner station and home to Spyglass Grill (which is temporarily unavailable as part of the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort - stay tuned to the
Dining Know Before You Go webpage for updates). It just depends on whether the pirate theme
floats your boat or not. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
If you're still deciding which Walt Disney World Resort hotel to call home on your vacation, my fellow Panelists and I are sharing our
tips for selecting a resort hotel in our Panel Extras. Your mateys here at planDisney (wait, am I going
overboard with the pirate puns now?) are here to help, so please come back and see us if you have any more questions as you plan and dream.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
