Are there any rooms at any of the resorts that have bare floors instead of carpet? My younger daughter has a sensitivity to dust and places with carpets seem to make her asthma worse. Thanks

    Hi Suzann,

I definitely feel for you.  My daughter has always had the same issues with her asthma.  While she's never had an issue in a Disney resort room (they are super clean), my advice to you would be to request a VIP Cleaning of your resort room. There are rooms that have partial tile/carpet flooring, but I'm not sure that there are any available without carpet at all.

When making your reservation please ask whether or not the type of room you're looking for is available.  If it isn't, ask the reservation specialist to make note that you are requesting a VIP Cleaning.  It includes a deeper cleaning of the carpets, curtains and linens.  The linens will go through a second cycle of washing and rinsing.  They will also provide you with allergen free pillows if you request them.  I'm not sure if there is an extra charge for this service, but I do know that Disney will make sure they do everything possible to ensure that the cleaning is thorough.

I'd also call the resort about a week to 10 days before you arrive to confirm that the VIP cleaning is scheduled for you.  Giving them advance notice and reconfirming the service is your best bet.  Also, you can request unscented toiletries if you'd like.  Feel free to let them know what your concerns are.  They will provide resolutions if they're able.

I really hope this information helps you.  Have a magical trip!
