Which rooms are quieter? The elevator or the lobby?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Cindy!

How exciting that you will be spending the most wonderful time of the year in The Most Magical Place on Earth! I’m delighted to be a part of your quest for a silent night during your upcoming vacation.

Because Walt Disney World Resort is home to Deluxe, Moderate, and Value Disney Resorts Collection hotels, you’ll find that noise levels often differ based on the Resort’s category and layout.
    • Value Resort hotels tend to attract larger groups and families with smaller Mouseketeers. For the quietest possible atmosphere, I would suggest a room further from the foot traffic of both the lobby and your building’s elevator.
    • Most Moderate Resort hotels have a much larger footprint than Value Resorts, so while Guest rooms farther from the lobby can require a bit of a walk (or bus ride), they are also distanced from the flow of Guests heading to and from the theme parks and dining options.
    • Although I’ve never had an issue with noise levels at a Deluxe Resort hotel, I would recommend a room further from the lobby for a more peaceful stay as the grand lobbies of these Resorts are furnished and themed so well that one can’t help but want to linger.
If you are hoping for a quieter overall atmosphere, I highly suggest a River View room at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. The compact size of the resort and leisurely flow of the Sassagoula River are the perfect combination for a relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of adventure-filled theme park days.

No matter where you choose to call your magical home away from home, Cindy, it is sure to be dressed in its holiday finest. Be sure to make time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season! I also suggest asking a Cast Member at the Front Desk if there are any special activities, events, or celebrations planned during your stay. You might be surprised at how many magical memories can be made outside of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks!

    Thinking Happy Thoughts,
