Aloha Brad!
Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with an excellent question about your upcoming stay. My family and I recently returned from a tropical getaway to
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and I'd be thrilled to answer your question.
All rooms at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort were beautifully refurbished just a few years ago, now featuring stunning
Moana-inspired decor. This includes the accommodations in both the Hawaii and Tuvalu longhouses. The refreshed rooms have a sleek South Pacific vibe with just the right amount of Disney magic.
I hope you enjoy your island escape as much as I did last month. Before you set sail for your adventure, I'll share a few quick tips for making the most of your time at this iconic resort.
*Don't miss
Happily Ever After fireworks from the beach! You can also catch them from the lounge if you're staying in the Hawaii building with club-level access. Cast Members set up Adirondack chairs on the beach, but they fill up quickly, so be sure to claim your spot well before showtime.
*If you're an early riser like me,
Kona Island will take care of you. This java joint opens at 6:30 each morning and features an array of specialty coffee beverages and pastries. I love to grab an iced latte and stroll through the serene lobby before the rest of the resort wakes up.
*No dining reservations? No problem!
Tambu Lounge and
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace offer table service on a walk-up basis. Don't miss the Thai Chicken Flatbread at Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. It's fantastic!
*The volcano slide at the
Lava Pool is a must-do, but it's popular. If you have children (or adults) in your party who want in on the fun, stop by as soon as the pool opens (usually 10 AM) or just before fireworks for shorter waits.
Thanks again for visiting us at planDisney, Brad. Best wishes for a memorable vacation, and please reach out if there is anything else we can do to make it even more magical.
Mahalo,
Betsy
