Ahoy Stacey,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for your question and visiting us to help with your planning needs.
At
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, it is a "pirate's life" all the way with impressive pools, pirate-themed rooms, and a tropical island vibe. Best of all, with the
Disney Skyliner, you can easily travel to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios from your resort. As someone who spends most of the year feeling a little like Snow White's friend Sneezy, I can totally sympathize with you. I am always thrilled whenever I enter my resort hotel room and find the new wood flooring. While Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort did go through a renovation in 2019, the renovation was to replace the carpets with newer carpets. I spoke to a Cast Member, and they said that this change was made in all of the resort hotel rooms. If you haven't booked your Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel yet, and wish to still stay close to the Disney Skyliner, you may want to check out
Disney's Pop Century Resort. They have wood flooring and are a favorite of many of my fellow panelists. Another option is
Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter. As a Princess and the Frog super fan, Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter is my absolute favorite place to stay. I love the nods to my favorite Disney movie and the access to delicious fresh Beignets. The resort rooms also have wood flooring!
As Walt Disney World continues to renovate and reimagine its resort hotels, you may find that some resort hotels have been partially renovated already. My final tip for making sure that you are assigned to a room that doesn't have carpet (if available) is to make that request at the time of booking. If Cast Members can accommodate your request, they will undoubtedly do so. You can also ask at check-in if you prefer.
I hope that you can reserve a room that makes you feel more like Happy than Sneezy during your visit next month!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
