We have 3 rooms booked. One room with 3 guests might be cancelled because 2 of the guests can't make the trip anymore. Can the 3rd person be transferred to one of the other rooms that have only 2 people in it?

    Ahoy there, Kristine!

Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m so glad you sailed by with your question. While it's a bit of a bummer that a couple of your shipmates may need to cancel, I'm glad to hear you’re still planning to chart a course for adventure with Disney Cruise Line!

Let’s get into the who-goes-where details. In many cases, yes—Guests from one stateroom can be reassigned to another, provided there’s available space and the new room doesn’t exceed its maximum capacity. Since all staterooms sleep at least three, there's a good chance this switcheroo can happen without needing a Fairy Godmother’s wand. That said, there are a few “nautical but nice” things to keep in mind.

First, I highly recommend calling the fantastic Cast Members at Disney Cruise Line directly—or your travel agent if you used one. They'll have access to all your booking info and can walk you through the best options based on your unique reservation. It's always smooth sailing when you get help from the pros!

Now, for the fine print that even Scrooge McDuck would want you to read: If the stateroom you're moving the Guest into is a different category (like upgrading from an oceanview to a verandah), there may be a price adjustment—and that extra pixie dust comes at today’s rates, not the original booking rate. And if you’re less than 45 days from sailing, there could also be a $50 service fee for making changes. Additionally, you will want to be sure to review Disney Cruise Line’s Terms and Conditions to understand your options when it comes to refunding the two Guests who won’t be joining the voyage.

I’ve had a few last-minute surprises in my own travel crew, and in my experience, Disney Cast Members are great at helping navigate the best way forward. A little communication and a dash of flexibility can go a long way in making your dream vacation still feel like a wish your heart made!

I hope this helps you navigate your plans with a little more clarity and confidence! No matter how your crew is rearranged, there’s still a sea of magic waiting for you on board—from Broadway-style shows to tropical ports and plenty of soft-serve swirls in between. Wishing you smooth seas and even smoother stateroom changes!

Sea ya real soon as May brings sunshine, magical ports, and maybe a Mickey bar or two,
