Hi Cynthia,
Thanks for visiting planDisney. Your trip is almost here; how exciting! It sounds like you’re the leader of this adventure, and I’m happy to be your Tinker Bell, guiding you through the details of your upcoming journey.
If you’ve had the pleasure of visiting Walt Disney World, then you may already be familiar with the
My Disney Experience app. That app includes a Family & Friends list, which allows guests to easily share plans, dining, and hotel reservations.
Here in California, things work a bit differently.
The Disneyland app doesn’t include a Family & Friends list, but I’m happy to give you some ideas on how to share your itinerary with your crew.
There are three main things you’ll typically want to share with your party:
1) Park Tickets
2) Lightning Lane Access
3) Dining Reservations
When it comes to sharing your plans with your group, the Disney Genie section of the app is a wonderful (and free!) planning tool. It displays your current plans—including dining reservations, booked experiences, and Lightning Lane selections—all in one place. To access this, tap the three bars at the bottom right of the app and scroll down to “Today’s Plan.” This will take you to your planning board. You can change the date under “My Day” and view all dining or hotel reservations you’ve made in advance of your trip. On the day of your visit, you can get real-time tips for entertainment and rides under the “Tip Board.”
Like Peter Pan said, "All you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust!” While it might be out of some folks' comfort zone to know every detail of the trip, remind your roommates to enjoy the Disney Magic and to take the day one magical moment at a time. If your roommates really need to be in to know, you can also take screenshots of the Disney Genie sections to share with your roommates so everyone knows what to expect.
Don’t forget that
Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration will be happening during your visit! My fellow panelists and I had the chance to see
some of the entertainment together, and it was incredible. The best place to watch Paint the Night, Wondrous Journeys, and Tapestry of Happiness is near the “it’s a small world” area. Bring a blanket and grab some popcorn while you wait; it’s worth it!
If you are going to Disney World, my fellow panelist, Alison, wrote a
great response helping another guest link their family and friends.
I hope this helps with your planning, Cynthia! If you have more questions or need extra tips, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your vacation.
Have a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
