We have a room only reservation for jan. If we book our dining next week, 180 days, will it effect our reservations when we add the dining plan when packages/deals open for jan?

Hello Nina!  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I always book my Walt Disney World Resort Room-Only Reservations well ahead of when Special Offers and Magic Your Way Vacation Packages are released. While having them in hand provides reassurance that we have a room, I know that I can easily modify or cancel said reservations to take advantage of any Free Dining Plan or Annual Passholder Special Offers that may arise.

As far as booking Advanced Dining Reservations for your Walt Disney World Vacation is concerned - book away. The choice to redeem Disney Dining Plan credits or pay out-of-pocket does not come up until you are at the table for your dining experience. If you wait, you may lose out on coveted dining experiences for your plans.

Advanced Dining Reservations and Room Reservations may both be found on My Disney Experience, but the 2 are not connected.  Whether or not you even have Room Reservations, Guests can book Advanced Dining Reservations for whenever they like.

When you add the dining plan when Magic Your Way Packages are released, your Advanced Dining Reservations will not be altered in any way.

Remember that, since they are not connected, if you cancel your Room Only Reservations for whatever reason, you will be required to individually cancel any Advanced Dining Reservations you do not plan to attend.

    Bon Appétit!
