Greetings Jackie, and welcome to planDisney! We're so glad you've sent your question our way. When I'm not busy with my own vacation plans, there's nothing better than helping fellow Guests with theirs!
With the
phased reopening of the theme parks and resorts, Walt Disney World has worked hard to create a safe environment for Guests and Cast Members. My family and I were so pleased with all of the health and safety protocols in place during our August getaway. Because limiting capacity in public areas is a priority, Guests are encouraged to experience the amenities at their
Resort Hotel, but may visit another Resort Hotel if they hold Advanced Dining Reservations. Currently, parking at Resort Hotels is permitted for hotel guests and visitors with table-service dining plans.
While you will not likely see Cast Members checking
MagicBands at transportation hubs to confirm a Guest's status for a particular destination, in the spirit of managing capacity and ensuring space at the Resort Hotels for registered guests, my family and I spent our recent vacation immersing ourselves fully in the amenities and activities of our home resort. While both park hopping and resort hopping are usually part of our Walt Disney World itinerary, we enjoyed doing things a little differently during this special stay. Spending more time at our resort helped us get to know not only our surroundings but also the Cast Members working hard to make our visit magical. In stopping by
Geyser Point Bar & Grill nearly every day of our vacation, we had fantastic interactions with our server whose attentiveness really enhanced our experience. By our final lunch here, we felt like we were bidding farewell to a friend.
Jackie, during my recent trip, it was great to see so many Guests respecting and following all health protocols. I truly felt like we were all working together to maintain a safe environment. My family and I are anxious to return to our happy place and continue to experience the magic of Walt Disney World during these unique times. Thanks again for stopping by, and have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
