How to make a room location request at the grand californian

    Hi Melissa,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! If you’re considering a stay at the Grand Californian, you’ve made an awesome choice. I absolutely love the Grand Californian’s majestic Great Hall, where you can relax by the fire, listen to a live pianist, or enjoy the latest seasonal display. You also can’t beat its location! With an exclusive entrance into the Downtown Disney District and a direct entrance into Disney California Adventure Park the Grand Californian is the place to be.

Guests are always welcome to call the hotel at (714) 635-2300 to make room requests, such as being near the elevator or on a particular floor. A helpful Cast Member can note your preferences on your reservation, and you can kindly remind them again when you check in. While requests are not guaranteed; availability will depend on which rooms are open at the time. With a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, you just might get the room of your dreams!

There are some location/view guarantees based on the room type you book. The Grand Californian offers several options:

Pool View – Views of the pool

Partial View – Partial views of the theme park or Downtown Disney District

Standard View – Views of Disneyland Drive, rooftops, or parking area

Woods-Courtyard View – Views of courtyards or wooded areas

Downtown Disney View – Views of the Downtown Disney District

Some of these views naturally place your room in certain sections of the hotel, so I recommend exploring the hotel’s room descriptions online to see if one catches your eye.

Melissa, get your pumpkin spice ready! Did you know that when you arrive at the Disneyland Resort, fall will be in full swing? Halloween Time begins August 22 and runs through October 31. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, Plaza de la Familia will also be in full swing from August 22 through November 2, celebrating the spirit of Día de los Muertos. I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates on what’s coming to the parks this fall!

I hope this helps with your planning, Melissa! If you have any more questions or need a little extra pixie dust, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to help make your Disney dreams come true!

    Happy planning!
