Hi Carolyn,
Garden view rooms offer views of the Courtyard, Marina or Pool areas. The Lagoon view rooms offer views of the Seven Seas Lagoon. My family stayed in the Big Pine Key building in a Lagoon view room at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. We had a great view and it was close to the Main Building and Monorail. The Boat Launch isn't too far of a walk from this building. The Courtyard Pool is only a few steps away and the Beach Pool isn't too far either. Check out the map at http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/GFMap.pdf.
Honestly, you couldn't go wrong with any of the buildings because everything is accessible. When making your reservation, be sure to notate your building request(s). Just remember, it's just a request and it may or may not be honored.
Have a magical day!
Ca'Sandra
