How do I have my room decorated for my son before we get there? It is his first time and I want to make it extra special for him.

Welcome to planDisney April. We are glad you stopped by with your question. First-time visits are in my opinion the most important visits. Let's help make this magic happen for him

First-time visits make me all giddy, I remember bringing my children and witnessing the magic I experienced as a child through their eyes. These are as an adult, my Disney core memories I will cherish forever. The idea of decorating your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room for an extra special treat is planning at its finest. We love that here, and I have a couple of ideas for your decorations. We can start with the soon-to-be-retired Disney Floral and Gifts. This service has balloons and gift baskets, and there is even a package with a birthday celebration door banner and themed gifts included. How cool! You can explore these delivery options up until August 26, 2023. Another option is decorating yourself. While you are checking in at the front desk, if you have another adult with you you can quickly get away and head to the room while the little guy checks out the arcade or other areas of your resort. You can head up and take 20 minutes and make it special for your little guy, I would bet some streamers and some window decorations would make him feel like a Disney VIP. Then head back to wherever the distraction is happening and he will never know the difference.

While you are visiting during these summer months you should be sure to check out your resort pool. But if you are looking for a little more action then make sure to check out Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park this park currently has no need for a reservation so you can just pick up and go whichever of your days where you aren't visiting one of the theme parks. This water park has Ketchakiddee Creek where the little ones can enjoy the pint-sized water slides and splash areas. There is even exciting stuff for the adults, Crush 'n' Gusher is a coaster-like water raft ride for two. Or you can hang out in North America's largest wave pool. All of these options are sure to get you wet and keep you cool.

I hope this information helps you plan that special start to your visit. If you have any other questions or need any other first-timer tips you can head on back and ask me a question. I will be ready and equipped to handle your questions and help where I can.

    Have a magical stay,

    Jeremy A.
