Hi Susan! Welcome to planDisney!
There is nothing quite like beginning to book a vacation to the
Walt Disney World Resort! With the unlimited possibilities that await, you have so much to look forward to when planning for your stay!
Choosing to stay at a
Disney Resort hotel is a fantastic option. It allows you to be completely immersed in the magic from the second you arrive until you depart. When booking resort rooms, the
cancellation policy will differ slightly depending on how you book your stay. If you opt to book a hotel-only reservation, cancellations can be made up to 8 days before your arrival with a full refund. Cancellations made 7 days or less will require you to forfeit your deposit, which is equal to one night of your stay.
When booking a vacation package that includes your Disney Resort hotel and ticket package, you will have up to 30 days before your arrival to cancel with a full refund. Any amount put toward your package, including the initial deposit upon booking, will be returned. Cancellations made 2 to 29 days before your arrival require a $200 cancellation fee (subject to change at any time), which is currently equal to the deposit required upon booking. Cancellations made the day before or the day of will result in the loss of your entire package's cost.
At this time, no new information regarding a change to these policies has been announced. I suggest following along with the
Disney Parks Blog for any up-to-date news and information that is released. With January fast approaching, I doubt there will be any major changes made in such a short time period.
I hope you have a wonderful time planning your stay, Susan!
