Hi Larry,
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Personally, I prefer not to ever have to cancel any one of my family's magical Disney vacations. However, I understand there are circumstances that could possibly prevent us from visiting as originally scheduled. Therefore, it's important to be aware of the cancellation policy for booked Walt Disney World Resort vacations.
There are significant differences between the cancellation policies for Magic Your Way Vacation Packages and Room-Only Reservations. Below you'll find the current terms and conditions for each type of booking. These policies are applicable to reservations made directly via the Walt Disney Travel Company and are always subject to change without notice
For
Magic Your Way Vacation Packages including your Resort hotel room, Theme Park Tickets, Dining Plans, etc. In order to receive a full refund, cancellation requests must be made 30 days, or more, prior to arrival. However, this may not include non-refundable air transportation or other optional additions. If you cancel between 2-29 days prior to arrival the package is refundable as before, minus a $200 cancellation fee. A cancellation request made 1 day or less prior to arrival, or no-shows, is unfortunately non-refundable.
To receive a full refund for a Room-Only Reservation, the cancellation request must be received at least 5 days prior to your arrival date (6 days for online bookings). If you cancel less than 5 days from check-in (or 6 days for online bookings), then you'll be charged the first night's room rate. A no-show carries the same penalty.
If you booked your vacation through a travel agent, please call the agency to help you cancel the reservation. Otherwise,
contact Disney directly.
