what room & building would you POP in preferred rooms. Is there a room where you can see any fireworks from. just me and my sister, no kids. also aloha or hoop dinner shows, which best? thanks

Glad to hear from a fellow Southerner!

If you're looking for a room to view the fireworks from Pop Century, I'd recommend the 1950's or 1990's buildings.  In the 1950's building, request any of the rooms from 2100-2472.  In the 1990's building, ask for 9101 to 9472.  You should be able to see the fireworks out on the breezeway outside your room!  (I've read where some folks will bring a lawn chair and sit outside their door!)

I have to be honest, I haven't been to the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian, but loved Hoop de Doo.  The show is vaudeville-esque, so if you enjoy music, laughs, and eating ribs and fried chicken (I don't know a Southerner who doesn't, do you?), I'd suggest the Hoop de Doo Revue.  If you time your show, you can enjoy other activities at Fort Wilderness while you're there: Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire after the 5:00 dinner show or before the 9:30 show or the water pageant and Magic Kingdom fireworks after the 7:15 show.

On the other hand, if you'd like a change of pace from the country/western atmosphere, the Spirit of Aloha dinner won't disappoint.  They also serve ribs and roasted chicken, and I've heard the pineapple bread makes you ask for seconds (and that's a good thing because it's all-you-can-eat)!  There are mixed reviews on the show, but the performers and fire dancer make the evening.

Both offer good food and free adult beverages.  So, if you want laughs: Hoop dee Doo Revue.  If you want something exotic: Spirit of Aloha.  I don't think either would disappoint!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
