We have a room booked on points in June. We want arrive a day early. We are out of points. I see that the same room category villa is available to the general public. Do you know if I book that, can I link the two so I don't have to move?

    Hi Kristi,

There are a few options for extending your stay.  There are options for making and linking these reservations both if you do so using a traditional payment method such as a credit card, and a couple of options using Vacation Points.

You could book the room that you found available to the general public through Disney.  To do so, you can call Disney Travel at 407-939-7675.  However, since you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, I suggest that you make your reservation by calling Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800.  They can also help you to make this reservation using a traditional payment method such as a credit card.

You mention that you are out of Vacation Points; however, I am not sure if you have borrowed points from your next Use Year.  Even if you are out of Vacation Points in the current Use Year, you can borrow from next Use Year for a vacation this year!  Another great option is purchasing One-Time-Use Vacation Points.  These One-Time-Use Vacation Points exist for exactly the situation you are in.  You can purchase up to 24 additional Vacation Points to add on a night to your vacation.  These points are currently $15 per point.  For more information on these points, check out page 108 of your Disney Vacation Club 2013-2014 Vacation Planner.

In any of these cases, you should be able to link your two reservations so that you do not need to change villas in the middle of your stay.  To do this you must book the exact same type of villa, meaning both the same size and the same view or category.  You can call Disney Vacation Club Member Services to help you link these reservations.

I hope that this is helpful for you, Kristi!  Have a great time planning, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
